| 1st run in the Civic at the Britcar Press Day |
Rob got his first run out in the 2008 Honda Civic Type R today at the official Britcar Championship Press Day at Silverstone in Northamptonshire.
All the major teams turned out for the first real look at the competition this year. With an vast mix of cars ranging from Moslers, Ferrari 430s, Corvettes and Porsches right through to Renault Clio and Seat Leon Turbos so the Championship should be competetive right through the field.
Commenting on the day, Rob said "It was a shame as we were only on the National Course but it did allow me to get a feel for a front wheel drive car. This is the first FWD I have driven on a circuit so it was a bit of a culture shock at first. Once I found out what you could and couldn't get away with, the lap times tumbled. I was on the pace within about 10 laps'.
Commenting on Rob's first drive in the Car, Richard Moore (team principal) said "Thats the quickest that car has ever been driven round this circuit!". Both Rob and the Team were happy with the outcome of the Press Day and are looking forward to the first race of the season. |
